Bate's Nut Farm-Pumpkin patch
My plein air buddies and I took a trip to Valley Center to paint a pumpkin patch. We went to Bate's nut farm...or as my Dad used to call it- Nate's but farm. It is a beautiful property, with gorgeous views in every direction.
It seemed the fields were bursting with giant pumpkins, of grotesque proportions and rich coloring.
In the mix were gourds piled up like intestines, adding to the Halloween theme of a pumpkin patch.
Ben did a very nice painting with a barn in the distance.
Kids and adults can take a tractor ride to scope out possible pumpkin picks.
If you need a change of scene, with a bit of Fall flare, this is the spot to go to!
